“Where
Love is throned.”
I
think that when Viola uses the word “throned” she’s referring to how
important love is, and how much power it can have over other things

Look for lines with a strong
sense of DRAMATIC IRONY, lines where the audience knows more than one of the
characters
|
I used the same passage as the
one above because I thought it was the most useful passage from Viola in this
scene. It shows a good example of irony because she’s telling Orsino about
loving a girl and she secretly loves him. Orsino thinks she’s a man so continues talking to her about the subject as she’s referring
to herself the whole time.

Consider how your character
refers to himself or herself. What style of SELF CHARACTERIZATION is used
|
When Viola says, “But if she
cannot love you, sir?” shows that Viola might be jealous of Olivia,
since Orsino seems to be interested in her. Viola is maybe trying to talk him
out of perusing Olivia without being too obvious.

Viola in general is a very smart
person. She’s more outspoken and motivated then most women of the time period.
She disguises herself as a man by cutting her hair and dressing the part. She
does this so she wouldn’t be questioned or be restrained from doing anything
she needs to do by, “being a woman”. She also does this so she could move
around town safely. You can tell Viola is a very good actor as well because she
convinces Olivia that she is a man, so well that Olivia claims to have fallen
in love with her. This also shows that she has a lot of charm. Viola is
generally very well-liked by the people around her.

What will happen in Twelfth Night?
I think
that, as Twelfth Night progresses things will start to unravel. I think Viola
is going to try to keep her distance from Olivia to prevent any drama. But by
trying to avoid Olivia she’ll probably end up making things worse until Olivia
finds out Viola isn’t actually a man. Olivia will get mad and more bad things
will start to happen. I don’t have any reason to think these things, I’m just
guessing. I think a lot of the plays by Shakespeare follow a similar plot. The
statement, “How easy is it for the prop-false in women’s waxen hearts to set
their forms!” is quite a bold statement. If I understand the statement
properly, I think that in a sense it is true. But not for all women, and its
just as true for men. If you spend enough time with someone, I think you adapt
to him or her and learn how to love them. Either in a romantic way or
non-romantic way. You subconsciously learn how to interact with the other
person in a manner that allows you to both work together. The fact that Olivia
claims to have fallen in love with Viola shows that she clearly doesn’t know
Viola very well. Considering she’s not a guy. But at the same time I don’t
think that people in general can fall in love with someone without knowing
them. So I guess it shows that Viola as a person is relatively gullible.

What’s the best book you have ever read? What did you like about it?
The best book I've ever read was probably Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephan Chbosky. But I feel like I've written too much about that book since I've read it, so I would rather write about true story I've recently read titled, Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer. Into the Wild is basically about a senior in college named Christopher McCandless who decides his life at home isn't for him. He abandons everything to his name, and leaves his small town in Virginia, without telling anyone where he’s going.
Christopher heads into the wilderness by himself, to live alone. He travels for about two years around America, through Atlanta, Virginia, New York City, South Dakota and many more places. After the two years of traveling, he teaches himself more about the basics of survival and decides to head to Alaska. He pushes himself through weather and other living extremes until his death, at age 24.
I think the reason I enjoyed this book so much was because when I was young I wanted to do what Christopher McCandless did. I was almost 100% sure I was going to finish my senior year in high school and just get rid of all possessions and travel the country. I was pretty convinced I was going to do this up until about 8th grade. That was when I realized that four years away was right around the corner. I also realized that of course, I needed to attend college. Nonetheless, I suppose that’s why I enjoyed the book so much, because I could relate to it.
The fact that it was a true story also made it very interesting. You would always think about how scary some of the situations he was put in would be to handle on your own. Christopher McCandless was also one of those people who didn't need to be caught up in the daily hustle and bustle of today. He didn't need money, a car, a television or anything. He just wanted to pursue his dream and travel. It seems that people like that are very hard to find now a days.

My name is Taylor Stevens and I’ve been attending North Broward Prep for about seven years.
I was born in St. Petersburg, Florida then moved around a bit and ended up in Coral Springs.
My biggest interests are photography and art. I like sculpting and ceramics.
I can’t think of anything I want to spend my future doing. Maybe something in art, photography or interior design. I think the whole thing of having to choose what you want to do for the rest of your life at this age is really stressful.
I’m hoping to attend FSU in the fall of next year and move to New York City once I’ve graduated.
I don’t love North Broward but like all schools it has its positives and negatives. I do enjoy coming to school though. It’s nice being around other people my age. I think the school has a really good art program, which I love a lot. And the campus is very nice.
I do soccer for fun and exercise but I’m not serious about it at all. I also play the ukulele for fun.
I usually keep pretty busy with things; I’m not one of those people who can sit around a lot.
